KYC RC Model Sailboat Fleet

OK, I know it’s a little bit dorky, but it’s also REALLY FUN!!!!    We are going to start an RC Model Sailboat Fleet here at the KYC.     We will sail the boats in the harbor here in front of the KYC, and the goal is to try to build up to some racing.  The boat we are going to recommend is called the VICTORIA, but any RC boat will work.  Racing works best with RC boats if you have a “One Design” boat, meaning all the boats are the same.   The VICTORIA is a very popular boat for this type of sailing and racing.   It is inexpensive, fun to sail, and easy to transport ( Not as big as Zippitydoda ).   The basic boat can be purchased as a kit for about $100 and they are easy and fun to build.   There are many alterations and “go fast” tricks you can make to individualize the boats, and even several vendors who make custom sails for the little boats.  Check out our KYC fleet page for more information about what we are doing.
